Details

Volunteers will be providing assistance in packing and dispensing meals, taking daily meal counts, communicating with staff to replenish meal items as needed, and cleaning area after meal distribution ends.

We kindly ask for volunteers who sign up to secure attendance. This particular volunteer opportunity does not have a back up plan in case volunteers don't show up. We not only need your help, but we appreciate your commitment to attend once you register. If you think you need to cancel, please do so ahead of time to assure we identify volunteers to cover this site.

Kids Summer Meals, also known as the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), is a USDA federally funded resource which offers free nutritious meals to children 2-18 typically during summer months. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, USDA approved waivers to activate Summer Food Service Program outside of traditional program dates so children can have access to free meals even when schools close for holiday breaks. The Food Bank will offer support across its 34-county service area to new and returning sites for Kids Summer Meals sponsorship.
